The list of 22 talented and committed leaders selected for this year's program includes representatives from organisations as diverse as Lend Lease; Westpac; Queensland Police Service; Family Planning Queensland; and Queensland Health just to name a few.
The group will spend the year working together to learn what it means to exercise leadership that delivers real progress on complex and entrenched social problems.
Graduates will join the SLA Alumni, a growing network of individuals with the capacity, skills and determination to create lasting social change, wherever they may be operating in the world.
The 2011-2012 Queensland Leadership program is sponsored by the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation as Principal Partner. The Foundation has provided funding to enable a number of leaders from rural and remote areas in Queensland to participate in the 2011-2012 Queensland Leadership program, and to assist with a fly-in retreat for all participants at a rural or remote Queensland location. In addition to our range of open and customised leadership programs, Social Leadership Australia is delighted to announce the launch of a new applied consulting service – offering a mix of leadership development learning and consulting over a sustained period, working directly on your problems, in your organisation.
For our program graduates, this new service provides an opportunity to support the their ability to practice new leadership skills and implement new approaches to complex problems within their organisation, working hands-on with our team.
For organisations facing complex or entrenched problems—when a different approach or new direction is required—the service represents an opportunity to discover an innovative approach to uncover new solutions.
The service is intended for organisations facing business critical issues that will have a positive social impact once resolved and is aimed at intact or cross-functional teams.
SLA's new Leading Learning programs for leadership development & change practitioners include three new 2 Day Intensives in 2011. To be delivered by SLA's senior teaching team in association with nationally and internationally recognised facilitators, the intensives provide an opportunity to gain an understanding of specific processes and theories which are key to the unique Social Leadership Australia leadership development model.
