Queensland Leadership is Social Leadership Australia's flagship program to build the leadership capability of change agents from across the business, government and not-for-profit sectors in Queensland.
Offering an intensive year-long learning experience using the hallmark Social Leadership Australia model, which integrates the Adaptive Leadership model from Harvard with rigorous community engagement, Queensland Leadership will introduce you to a valuable network of peer leaders, expose you to unique and powerful new models of leadership, stretch your self-awareness and provide you with the leadership skills and resilience you need to make progress on the challenges you face.
Now in its fourth year, Queensland Leadership was modelled on the award-winning Sydney Leadership program, which has been running since 1999.
Six scholarships for participants from rural, remote and regional Queensland in Queensland Leadership—the acclaimed nine-month leadership program run by Social Leadership Australia (SLA), which starts this September—have been made possible with the support of the Tim Fairfax Family Foundation. Designed to benefit country Queensland and offered to individuals who are motivated to make a difference in their communities, the scholarships are valued at $16,000 each and cover all costs associated with the program including travel, meals and accommodation.
An independent evaluation has confirmed that Social Leadership Australia’s flagship leadership development program is a powerful agent for lasting change.
Operating since 1999, the annual Sydney Leadership program brings together up to 30 business, government and community sector leaders a year and develops their skills in a challenging ten month program that combines a Harvard leadership model with intense community engagement.
The aim of the program is to build a coalition of change agents with the skills to lead change in the most challenging and uncertain environments and help create positive impacts across the social spectrum.
Sydney Leadership graduates now number close to 400, with an additional 69 leaders having also completed SLA’s sister program, Queensland Leadership.
Around 100 alumni were involved in the evaluation which was conducted by The Miller Group, specialists in social policy and management consultancy. MORE >
