SLA Announcement

After careful consideration, The Benevolent Society has made the difficult decision to close Social Leadership Australia (SLA). The official closure date will be 29 September 2017.

TBS recognises the importance of social leadership and how much SLA has done in developing the capacity for social impact.  However, TBS’ Board, CEO and senior executives have decided that their clear focus is on directly working with older people, people with disabilities, and children and families to help them live their best lives, as well as advocating for social justice through our campaigns.

SLA will continue to operate through the end of September 2017, including taking Sydney Leadership 2017 to Graduation and completing existing customised and open enrolment programs like our upcoming Art & Skill of Collaboration Masterclass in August.

We wish to thank all of SLA’s Alumni, funders and supporters for your advocacy and commitment to our purpose and work in creating the capacity for social leadership. We are pleased that Julie Ahern, Sophi Bruce, Rosamund Christie, Jane Martin and Lisa Ryan will launch a new organisation to evolve the work of leadership for social impact in new ways.
